Welcome to another chapter of Disarray Harbor. If you’re new to the story, my name is Sarah and I write Sim Stories. You also might want to go back to the beginning of Chapter One because if this is your first time here, a lot of the story below will probably not make a whole lot of sense.
We return to the Mason/formerly known as Black Household.
It’s just your regular ordinary day at work until Ray went to lunch. Who knew that not eating dodgy smelling fish would lead to a promotion? His other coworker’s should have known better but what can you do. That’s what comes with age and wisdom his younger athletes haven’t learned yet or had to today the hard way. Now not only was he an All Star, Ray was finally bringing home the bacon. It as a first milestone of many in his opinion. Even the mayor sent him a coupon for a free meal.

Ray could hear Stephanie crying for food as he walked in the house. He wondered where his wife was and why she wasn’t taking care of the baby. Little did Ray know, Alaina was off to her first night as a lounge singer, it was quite the step up from preforming as a street mime for tips and she wanted to look nice. This would have been fine if she wasn’t quite so… messy. The bathroom was disgusting and she didn’t really seem to think it was that big of a deal. She left as Ray was pulling a bottle out of the fridge, he didn’t hear her say goodbye because all he could think about was his promotion.
Becoming a MVP meant working on more skills, training harder and becoming a better speaker when it came to press conferences and the media even more. He didn’t want to embarrass himself after all.

But promotions could wait a little while longer yet. Ray played with his daughter and it made him think about how he wanted to try and repair his relationship with his older daughter, Melanie.
He pulled out his phone, hoping Melanie wouldn’t reject his invitation to come over like last time and to his surprise, she didn’t! Ray smiled, he wasn’t going to mess this up!

Ray was so excited when Melanie showed up that he didn’t even realize how much of an awkward dad he was being when he shot finger guns. Melanie pulled her father into a hug that both of them didn’t realize how much they needed.
“It’s good to see you dad,” she said. Watching both of her parents now moved on and herself not feeling so out of place as a third wheel among her friends, it was becoming easier to forgive her dad for leaving.
“Would you like to see your baby sister?” He asked. She did. Ray wanted to give the two of them some time alone so Melanie wasn’t overwhelmed. He didn’t know how she was going to react once she did actually meet her sister. So he started pulling some pulling some long over due weeds and began to work on cleaning up the yard.

Melanie was grateful to be alone. She really did want to meet her new baby sister but their was also this other part that wasn’t quite ready to make it real. Melanie turned around, unable to make it past the door and sat down in front of the TV for a little while. After collecting her thoughts, she was ready to try meeting Stephanie again. This time she walked right up to the crib and picked her up.
Melanie pulled Stephanie close to really take a close look at her. She was beautiful. She could sense that the baby needed to burp so instinctively, Melanie started to pat her back. The one thing she wasn’t ready to learn yet was, how to change a diaper. So Melanie put Stephanie took one long last look at her new sister and placed her gently back inside the crib.
Melanie left the room thinking about how when the time was ready, she was very much looking forward to starting a family. Who knows, maybe one day her boyfriend Daniel Van de Burg would propose! That would be nice. She wondered what their children would look like.

She could hear her father working away at the yard and without even being asked, grabbed a spare set of shears and started to help. Ray saw and was thrilled as he felt like he was going to pass out in any given moment. Together they pulled through and all the weeds were gone. Exhausted, to where he could barely stand, Ray went to bed. It had been a really long, yet, rewarding day.
Mean while, Alaina was just pulling up in the driveway from her first day as a lounge singer. She stepped out of the car with her own exciting news!

Alaina was also promoted! The entertainment industry is an odd business as you never quite know whose going to be watching you perform. During one Alaina’s performance breaks, she casually chatted up various crew member’s at the club. The bar tender mentioned with her background as a mime and now lounge singer, he knew a guy who knew a guy who might be interested in her to trying out becoming a ventriloquist. The man said he unofficially worked as a scout and sent names to those who showed promise. He slid over to the phone when Alaina made her way back to the stage and made a call. By the end of that night, she was being offered more money, a raise, and a new job!
Alaina and Melanie started talking. It was late and Alaina tried to tell her all about her new promotion but Melanie seemed more interested in the weather. But Alaina wasn’t interested in talking about the weather, she wanted someone to share this happy news with. She pouted while she laid down on the couch.
Even though it was a weekend and no school in sight, Melanie still had a curfew and needed to get back home. She said goodbye to Alaina and then ran into her dad’s bedroom but only found him asleep. This author was surprised but mostly pleased at this turn of events. It could be too soon to predict a happy ending after all for Ray but, it is definitely a good step in the right direction.
This is a shorter chapter than usual and there won’t be a lot more like these in the future. I am working towards preparing many chapter’s so I can post two times a week but it will take me a couple months before I get there. Until then, sit back, relax and joy our weekly Thursday blogs!
This temporarily concludes The Markovich, The Mason and The Black’s household but only until we cycle back around to summer time. Next up will be The Banner’s, The McMillians and both part one and two of The White’s households. I hope you enjoy those arch’s as well as I did.
Until Next Week,
Sarah
