• Disarray Harbor Chapter Five: If You Plant It, It Will Grow

Welcome to another chapter of Disarray Harbor. If you’re new to the story, my name is Sarah and I write Sim Stories. You also might want to go back to the beginning of Chapter One because if this is your first time here, a lot of the story below will probably not make a whole lot of sense.

We return to the Mason/formerly known as Black Household.

It’s just your regular ordinary day at work until Ray went to lunch. Who knew that not eating dodgy smelling fish would lead to a promotion? His other coworker’s should have known better but what can you do. That’s what comes with age and wisdom his younger athletes haven’t learned yet or had to today the hard way. Now not only was he an All Star, Ray was finally bringing home the bacon. It as a first milestone of many in his opinion. Even the mayor sent him a coupon for a free meal.

  • Disarray Harbor Chapter Four:You Win Some, You Lose Some

Alaina performed her heart out that night. She mimed like no mime has ever mimed before. She might have just given birth only a handful of hours before but being on maternity leave for so long also had built up a lot more restless energy than she realized. Also, without her big belly in the way, she was able to stretch her legs and move her body in positions she hadn’t been able to in awhile. It was a good thing too because little did Alaina know, there was a talent scout in the audience that night. He had been off duty, casually strolling through the square, when he noticed a small batch of people in a semi circle watching a street performer. He knew that being off the clock with payroll didn’t mean he was not working and stopped to take a look. The mysterious man walked up to Alaina after her performance was done, handed her his card, and said, “You done good kid,” and walked away into the night.

Ray was awake and waiting for Alaina when she came home that night, excited about her raise. She jumped on top of Ray faster than a Sims City minute that knocked the breath right out of his body. He recovered quickly enough to keep pace. After their cuddle couch time, Ray grinned from ear to ear, not knowing what had gotten into his wife but wasn’t going to ask either. They both slept very soundly that night. (Click the arrows on the picture to scroll)

  • Disarray Harbor Chapter Three: I Do But I Don’t

Alaina waited until the next morning to tell Ray about the baby. She wanted to look her most glowing radiant self so she took a shower while he played some computer games.

  • Disarray Harbor Chapter Two: The Wheel Turns And Ages Come and Pass

It is said that those who fail to learn from history, are doomed to repeat it. In the case of Ray Mason, it’s not will he learn from his past but can he do so in time? Ray is growing older with each passing day and the golden years are just around the corner. A redemption arch might have already come and gone for him but then again stranger things have happened.

All Ray ever wanted was to pursue his dream job as a hall of famer athlete, have lots of money, a hot wife, and sure, why not, have a family. Is that too much to ask for? So far he’d accomplished a rough estimate of two and a half parts of his dreams. Although he’s spent most of his days at work sitting on benches, and not playing very well when he is sent in, he is technically, living his dream job… Sort of. He landed the hot wife and even started a family. That family did have a small amount of money to comfortably live off of but that was mostly due to his wife Mandy’s constant promotions. He wouldn’t have minded as much if only he could get a little more encouragement from the home front. Mandy says he’s lazy although she used the word laid back, he knew what she meant. He’d be famous by now if his family was rooting more for him instead of rolling their eyes.

He didn’t expect to never be able to see his wife either who was always working. That left Ray a lot of nights spent alone by himself, with his kid, and the kid needed so many things, like all the time! But what about Ray? What about his needs dammit! That’s when Alaina moved into town. He can’t seem to remember exactly when it was they met but, it feels like forever. She made him laugh, had a good time and generally she makes him feel more like a man. She believed in his dreams… That also was before the divorce.

Now everything’s so weird. Not having anywhere to go once Mandy kicked Ray out for being with someone who was actually around and took care of his needs, Ray schmoozed his way into bunking into Alaina’s spare bedroom. This was all just supposed to be fun and games, Ray wasn’t meant to be a serious relationship and no one was meant to get hurt. He does feel sort of bad for stepping out on his now ex-wife and he admits that there were probably better ways to handle it, but what’s past is in the past right? And so the wheel turns…

  • Disarray Harbor Chapter One: Here Comes The Bride

There once was a little town, it was a quiet village. Everyday, like the one before. Little town, full of little people, waking up to say…

    Bonju – Wrong story!!!

But it was a little town and it was for all intent and purposes, a quiet village. If one didn’t look too closely, everyday did seem to look like the one before in this small provincial town. It was called Disarray Harbor and it was full of many families who had kind smiles and waving hands that suggested anything but disarray. This was a nice orderly town full of nice ordinary people who lent cups of sugar to their neighbors, worked hard and provided for their families. Secrets were closely guarded and one did not just air out their dirty laundry. Of course there were only happy families with nothing to hide. Of course…

Every now and again, a secret would surface and spread quickly throughout the neighborhood like wildfire. This author would venture, that the secret of The Mason Family was the secret that lead to the beginning of disarray of Disarray Harbor.

  • Maybe it’s the nature of being the youngest sibling, or maybe Timothy really is spoiled after all, but he doesn’t see the point of his parents constantly bragging about what they call his irresponsible behavior. He’s still young enough to have some fun, and when the time comes, he will gladly put his mind to achieving something greater than what he has now. But for now, he’s happy with his current lifestyle.
Back in the day, it was the norm to be married and have at least two kids by the time you hit your 20s. Maybe this worked out for Dennis, but Timothy will strongly defend his opinion until he dies. Heck, he used to want to become a gunslinger when he was a kid, but you don’t see him jumping on a horse and shooting people now. Times are changing, people, whether you want them to or not…

  • Tamara figured out this puzzle a while back: the main problem her parents have with her and her siblings is not that they’re lazy, but that they’re not pursuing the careers their parents want them to. They were shocked when Dennis decided to become a professional dancer, then disappointed when she chose science, and now they’re not happy with whatever Timothy is doing. It’s understandable with Timothy because he can be a pain sometimes, but Tamara doesn’t get why her choices are an issue. Just because she’s not breaking her back or making her hands bleed from physical labor doesn’t mean her interests are worthless. This older generation could use some therapy if you ask her…

  • Justin firmly believes that hard work is the key to solving any problem. In his day, there was no time to explore different paths and figure out who you wanted to be – you just went straight to work in the fields and put in your all until you were too exhausted to think about anything else. However, he can’t help but feel concerned about the younger generation, who seem to be more focused on self-discovery and less on hard work. He worries about what the future holds for his family if this trend continues. Sometimes he’s tempted to shake some sense into these kids, but he ultimately just sighs and carries on with his day. After all, he loves his children and doesn’t want to push them away by being too harsh…
