Richard really wishes his son would finally understand that not everyone needs to be saved. Maybe it’s a result of some childhood trauma he and his wife inflicted on Kevin, or maybe it’s something else, but the boy always seems to have this burning desire to feel needed and important. This, along with the fact that they never got along well, is exactly why they fought so much before Kevin left to pursue his career as a lawyer, still driven by the same passion to save someone.
Maybe that’s not entirely a bad thing, but sometimes he just seems to stick his nose where it doesn’t belong, especially when it comes to Richard’s new relationship. Richard is a grown man who recently lost someone very important, and the last thing he needs right now is some young guy messing around in his peaceful life. And considering what Richard has heard about who Kevin has been seeing lately, the whole situation seems a bit hypocritical, doesn’t it?
