Charles understood how difficult it was for Fiona to leave behind everything she had worked for. He did his best to support her throughout their years of marriage. However, he couldn’t shake the feeling that his efforts weren’t quite enough. It seemed unlikely that he could do anything to change the situation, as it was clear that the role of a mother wasn’t where Fiona felt like her true self.
Feeling a bit desperate, Charles noticed a change in Fiona when she started spending time with the Garraghers. Now she appears happier than she had in a long time, and he is all for it. He isn’t sure what exactly drew them together, but he suspects it is because they brought back the spark of joy and fun that Fiona had been missing.
