Simon firmly believes in the importance of minding one’s own business. He feels that whatever happens behind his neighbors’ doors is their own affair, and he prefers not to get involved. Unfortunately, simply not wanting to know isn’t always enough, and occasionally he stumbles upon things he shouldn’t have seen.

For example, he recently noticed Kevin, the redhead, wandering around the Tercels’ house while Bailey was away. And then there were the rumors about Ray Mason being a cheater, which didn’t come as a surprise to Simon, as he had seen Ray with that ponytail gal behind the bushes at the Mayfair while he was out fishing.
But does any of this information benefit Simon in any way? Not really. So why waste time thinking about it? He doesn’t. Not at all, sir.
